The jury deliberating in the Rhys Warren trial has asked to deliver its verdict with a majority decision.

Warren is facing multiple charges of attempted murder and firing at police officers, relating to a siege near Kawerau last year.

The jury has been deliberating for just under three hours.

Justice Timothy Brewer told the jury, legally he could not accept a majority verdict until it had been deliberating for a minimum of four hours, which would be around 1pm today.

Justice Brewer says the jury's duty is to try and get unanimity on the charges, no matter how frustrating it might be.
