A range of top speakers is lined up for a major conference next month, organised by Te Arawa Federation of Maori Authorities.
The conference, Climate Change 2016: Sustainable Economic Growth That Does Not Cost the Earth, will be held at the Holiday Inn in Rotorua on March 9 and 10.
Among the speakers are Rotorua Lakes Incentive Board programme director Te Taru White, Waiariki MP and Maori Development Minister Te Ururoa Flavell, Rotorua mayor Steve Chadwick, Labour Party leader Andrew Little, Green Party co-leader James Shaw and Waiariki Institute of Technology chief executive Professor Margaret Noble.
There will be other expert speakers from the Bay of Plenty and Waikato regional councils, AgResearch, University of Waikato, Niwa and MetService.
Ian McClean from the Rotorua Lakes Water Quality Society will lead a session on community engagement and Te Arawa lakes strategy group chairman Sir Toby Curtis will lead a session on climate change and society.
The final day ends with a speech from Climate Change Issues Minister Paula Bennett.
