Families and supporters of young people and children with a disability in the Rotorua region are invited to a forum, where IHC will provide free information and resources.
IHC director of advocacy Trish Grantsaid many New Zealand disabled children and young people were missing out.
The support they require is
limited and poorly co-ordinated by health, education and social development ministries, she said.
Ms Grant, who will visit Rotorua for the forum, said families struggled to get the help they needed and to know what was available and what support they might be entitled to.
"The Heartland forums are not a talk-fest by experts. They are an opportunity for people to contribute, to listen, to be informed and to be part of a community discussion," she said.
