Four Rotorua hotels are teaming up to fight Cystic Fibrosis - by donating $2 per night's accommodation.

Four Rotorua hotels are contributing to help cystic fibrosis sufferers this week.

From today until Sunday Quality Inn on Fenton, Comfort Inn Academy, Comfort Inn & Suites Coachman and Econo Lodge Cleveland will donate $2 from every night stayed to Cystic Fibrosis New Zealand.

The properties, which are part of the Choice Hotels group which owns 35 hotels across the country, want to raise $15,000 through its initiative to "help those living with Cystic Fibrosis become invincible".

Quality Inn on Fenton general manager Sharlene Herbig said the $2 per night donation added up. "It's from all over the Choice properties, so that's going to add up to be a huge amount."

It was the second time the group of hotels had made a donation to Cystic Fibrosis NZ.

"We have done it before, it contributes to the cause."

Cystic Fibrosis NZ chief executive Belinda Burnett said the money raised will go directly towards the organisation's field workers.

"Our field workers travel the country to support and positively influence the lives of those living with cystic fibrosis.

"We are incredibility grateful to Choice Hotels for its support which has enabled us to significantly reduce our running costs, allowing us to make a stronger impact on the lives of those living with the disorder."

Choice Hotels chief executive Trent Fraser was thrilled to be involved in the fundraising efforts for a second year.

"Effectively, the more people that stay at our hotels over this period the more we can give to this important cause. We are so pleased of how much we are able to contribute to the lives of those living with cystic fibrosis and urge anyone planning to travel during this time to support the cause by simply choosing to book a bed with Choice."

Cystic fibrosis is the most common life-threatening genetic disorder affecting New Zealand children.
