The historic signing of the Te Arawa Partnership is underway at Tamatekapua in Ohinemutu.

Today's signing and inauguration are the next steps in the process of establishing a formal partnership with Te Arawa, following adoption by council earlier this year of a new partnership model that will see two iwi representatives, with voting rights, sitting on each of council's two committees.

Te Arawa committee members:
Te Taru White - Elected Chairman.
Ngaroma (Mala) Grant - Elected deputy chairwoman.
Ana Morrison, Eugene Berryman-Kamp - Strategy, Policy, and Finance.
Potaua Biasiny-Tule, Raina Meha-Rangitauira - Operations & Monitering.
Gina Mohi- RMA hearing panel.
