Hennessy's Irish Bar in Rotorua has been shortlisted for the 2018 Irish Pubs Global Awards.

More than 25,000 online nominations were received for the best Irish pubs around the globe in 2018, from four different regions.

There are ten award categories.

The manager of the Tutanekai St bar, Sue Burnett, said the bar was nominated and then shortlisted in three categories: Best Sports Experience, Best Entertainment Experience and Best Bar Person in the Asia, Africa, Middle East and Pacific Area.

"We'd like to thank our wonderful staff, some of whom have been with us for nine years, who all buy in to the hospitality and service we're about."
