On May 14 two women were rescued from the mid point of the 42 traverse after becoming lost among the myriad of tracks in the area. This was a night mission and required the helicopter to perform a low hoist as they were unable to land in the small clearings available.
The women were nearing hypothermia in the freezing, but clear conditions.
On May 16 a woman was rescued from Mt Tongariro with an ankle injury and flown to Taupo Hospital.
Three separate jobs on May 22 included a man flown from the central plateau to Rotorua Hospital with a medical condition and a woman flown from Taupo to Waikato Hospital also with a medical condition.
On the return flight from Hamilton the rescue helicopter diverted to a baby in Turangi whom was flown with his mother to Rotorua Hospital.
