LOVABLE TRIO: Kiwi actresses Geraldine Brophy, Jude Gibson and Lynda Milligan will star in a show at Rotorua's Civic Theatre tomorrow night.

Oversized granny knickers and plenty of laughter will feature in this weekend's "ridiculously funny" Fifty Shades of Beige show.

The Grumpy Old Women will perform the popular comedy show at Rotorua's Civic Theatre tomorrow, as part of a 22-city tour of New Zealand.

Kiwi actresses Geraldine Brophy, Jude Gibson and Lynda Milligan will star in the show and are expected to entertain audiences with their witty banter about the pros and cons of old age.

Promoter Ben McDonald said the show was a fantastic opportunity to see some of the best theatre actresses in action.

Brophy has years of experience in film, television and theatre and has produced and toured nationally with her own plays, including Confessions of a Chocoholic, Ladies a Plate and Floral Notes.

From 1997 to 2001 she appeared as receptionist, Moira Crombie, on popular TV show Shortland Street.

Meanwhile, Gibson has had a career as a theatre actor spanning more than 35 years and Milligan has acted professionally since 1974, appearing in countless productions including Steel Magnolias, Blood Brothers, The Killing of Sister George and Hay Fever.

Mr McDonald said the trio were not short of talent, and were likely to have audiences in hysterics.

"The show is ridiculously funny. It's very silly and outrageous and has been selling out in cities across the country," he said.

Tickets for tomorrow's show have been selling fast with only about 50 left.

"Most of the people buying tickets are middle-aged women, there's only about half a dozen men going that we know of," he said. "But it is for everyone. I think people of all ages will love it."

Mr McDonald said he encouraged people to get in quick for the last tickets.
