Rotorua has been added to the government's "Taking Care of Business" roadshow itinerary.

Small Business Minister Craig Foss said in statement that five more locations had been added to the hugely popular roadshow which aims to make it easier and more efficient for business owners to deal with government.

"More than 1200 business owners and operators have so far attended a dozen events around the country, from Invercargill to Hamilton," said Mr Foss.

"Five new events will be held in Porirua, Masterton, Rotorua, Christchurch and Blenheim, in addition to those in Whangarei and Auckland already scheduled to take place in the coming weeks.

The Rotorua event will be held at the Novotel on October 17 from 5.30pm to 7.30pm.

"Every stop on the roadshow gets bigger and better, with overwhelmingly positive feedback,' said Mr Foss.

Whether it is through compliance, tax, surveys or trade and innovation, businesses spend a significant amount of time working with government agencies.

At the roadshow experts from several different agencies will outline government support available for businesses, discuss new legislation and how to comply, and answer any questions business owners might have.

"This roadshow is all about helping business owners engage with government agencies more effectively and efficiently by taking the experts to the businesses, not the other way around," said Mr Foss.

"Attendees hear from a wide variety of speakers on issues such as health and safety legislation, tax, ACC and minimum employment standards. There's also an opportunity to speak to officials one-on-one and network with others in the local business community."
