Rotorua Daily Post sports reporter Gary Hamilton-Irvine gives his picks for Round 13 of the NRL.

Rabbitohs v Warriors, tomorrow

I'll tell you a man I'm going to miss - Jerome Ropati. Big Ropo. I have no sarcastic joke to follow this up, I really did rate him as a centre/fullback for the Warriors. For people that don't know, he retired a few weeks ago. On a brighter note, Warriors have a record of six wins and six losses. For the Warriors, that is really good for the first half of the season. We always finish stronger than what we start. We'll hopefully win here too.

Does anybody really believe the Bulldogs can win the title this year? They currently sit in first spot and have been playing well. Their halves are State of Origin players and their forwards are staked. But my main concern is they don't have any outside backs. Meanwhile, the Sea Eagles boast guys like Steve Matai and Jamie Lyon in their backline plus they can match the Dogs everywhere else. They should win here.

Eels v Cowboys, tonight

Semi Radradra has signed a three-year deal with the Eels. How good is that Parra fans? The Eels actually have a stunning backline with him, Jarryd Hayne, Will Hopoate, Willie Tonga and Corey Norman. Despite that talent, it is hard to bet against the Cowboys here. They are hot on form with four wins in their last five games.

Titans v Panthers, tomorrow

The Panthers are second. Shocking. Who would have thought that during pre-season? Rotorua's Dean Whare has come a long way in a year. He is a quality centre for the Panthers. Shame the Titans are almost back at full strength, or else the Panthers would have probably kicked on.

Dragons v Sharks, tomorrow

What to say of these two teams? The Dragons were terrible on Monday night and the Sharks' season is already done. Is anyone actually going to watch this game? If you are, here is something to look out for - Josh Dugan has been moved to centre for the Dragons. That's all I've got.

Knights v Tigers, Sunday

Big news for Wests Tigers fans, fullback James Tedesco is staying at the club after turning down an offer from the Raiders. He's an absolute star. But even with Tedesco, Luke Brooks and Aaron Woods, I'm still not sure about the Tigers, are they a top eight side this year? I don't think so. I'm actually going against them here.

Storm v Roosters, Sunday

I always enjoy sitting down on a cold winter's night and watching the Storm lose. It warms my heart. Did you like what I did there? Anyway, no Cooper Cronk and no Billy Slater on Sunday. Doesn't take a genius to figure out what's going to happen.

Raiders v Broncos, Monday

Someone said the other day Ben Hunt (the Broncos halfback) could be a possible replacement for Cooper Cronk in the Queensland side. Is it just me or is anyone else stunned by the attention he has got this year? I still can't decide whether or not he is a good rugby league player much less an Origin prospect. Anyway, Broncos for mine here, the Raiders are not great.
