Future Silver Ferns have been honing their netball skills in Rotorua.
More than 115 children took part in the three-day holiday programme at the Rotorua Energy Events Centre this week, hosted by the Rotorua Junior Netball Association.
Junior co-ordinator Rose O'Brien said this was the eighth year it had offered the event with local players and those from Murupara, Galatea and Broadlands. Fifteen volunteers have also been helping out.
Warm-up sessions were held in the morning by Te Arawa Crossfit and The Yoga Room.
"The netball season starts in May so we have this to get them all prepared. We have from Year 1 and Year 2 children taking part as they have a new netball programme, it's the first time in Rotorua through to Year 8," Mrs O'Brien said.
"They've been taught drills, skills. When they first started they were very delicate, shy and now they won't stop, they don't want to go home."
