She said any and all interaction between owners and their dogs was good for both of them.
The SPCA had previously held a larger event called Dogs Day Out, which was where the idea for Bark in the Park came from, she said.
Kinsella said the Rotorua SPCA wanted to make some changes to its dog play areas, so the funds raised would go towards those expenses.
"We are here to help those who cannot speak for themselves.
"All animals have the right to enjoy the five freedoms, and the SPCA is here to educate and support animal owners in providing the essentials for their pets."
