A person has been injured in four-vehicle crash on State Highway 33 near Paengaroa.

A police spokeswoman said the crash happened about 3.20pm near Allport Rd.

Four vehicles were involved and a person has suffered moderate injuries, she said.

A tow truck was needed but the road was not closed and there were no expected delays, she said.
