The Geyser Community Foundation has more than $46,000 available for local charities and community organisations supporting families and social services.

Geyser Distribution Advisory Committee chairman Dr Kierin Irvine said every year for the last five years it had received funding from the Tindall Foundation to distribute.

He said trustees had approved gifts totalling more than $220,000 on behalf of The Tindall Foundation during that time.

"We would like to reach further into the Rotorua and Taupo communities so encourage all local charities and community organisations to jump online at www.geysercf.org.nz to see if they fit the criteria.

"Ten local charities and community organisations received gifts totalling $46,750 last year."
