The Rotorua United women's team have won their toughest match of the season against Whakatane Town.
United, who won the Bay One competition last year, defeated Whakatane Town 6-1 on Sunday at Neil Hunt Park.
After a week's rest, due to Taupo pulling out last week, the United girls were
a little slow at the start of the match.
But after United scored their first goal on 16 minutes, a stunner from Hayley Merriman, they started to dominate the match.
Further goals from Merriman, Halee Smith (2), Paige Satchell, and Annaleise Heuvel put the game to rest.
