Ngongotaha players will pull on their boots for the last time this season as they look to end their year on a high.

Ngongotaha host Waikato Unicol at Stembridge Rd tomorrow during their final game of the year.

A win would see them finish in fourth spot behind champions AFC Fury (Tauranga), Cambridge and Tauranga City United.

It has been an up and down season for the Villagers who started brightly in the Waibop Federation One competition this year.

That was followed by a remarkable run in the Chatham Cup which saw them advance to the top 16 clubs in the country, before losing to Melville 2-1 in Rotorua. Unfortunately, they suffered a mid-season slump after their Chatham Cup run, where they went almost two months without a win.

But a return to form recently means they have a chance to record their third win on the trot.

Captain Josh O'Sullivan said they would be pleased with a fourth-place finish this year, if they could win this Saturday.

"It would have been good to finish higher but I think the Chatham Cup took more out of us than we thought."

He said this would be the first time they had registered three wins in a row, in the league, if they managed to get past Waikato Unicol.

Their match against Waikato Unicol kicks off at 2.45pm tomorrow.

Waikato Bay of Plenty Football draw tomorrow (both games 2.45pm start):
Ngongotaha v Waikato Unicol, Cambridge v Hukanui Rototuna.
