Ticket sales for Flochella 2018 have already surpassed the 4000 sold for last year's event.

Held in Taupo in 2017, the inaugural Flochella attracted 4000 people, but 5000 have already signalled their intention to be at Tikitapu (Blue Lake) on Monday, February 5.

Flochella is New Zealand's only water-based festival with crowds able to float about in the lake, or on the lake in a boat, while watching live performances from some of the country's best singers and bands. The event is alcohol-free and open to all ages.

ZM content director Ross Flahive said the Flochella team from ZM and iHeartRadio were pleased with ticket sales.

"Boat passes have all sold and, with two weeks to go before the event, we expect tickets to sell out also," Flahive said.

"As these things often track, there were a lot of early sales then we had a bit of a lull, but things have really picked up in the past two weeks and we expect that to continue until February 5."

The Flochella line-up includes Amy Shark, Kings, Mitch James, Drax Project and special guest Jupiter Project.

Tickets to the festival also allow for an unlimited number of jumps from the New Zealand Bomb Comp Tower.

The New Zealand bomb competition, held in conjunction with Flochella but as a separate event, takes place at Tikitapu on February 3 and 4.

Saturday will be set aside for everything from leisure bombs and serious practising off the scaffold tower, and on Sunday the best splashers will have the opportunity to compete for the title of New Zealand Bomb Comp champion.

There will be prizes up for grabs and the chance to share $5000 worth of prize money.
