Fire fighters have attended a small vegetation fire on Pohutukawa Ave in Rotorua this afternoon.

A Northern Fire Communications Centre spokesman said there were four firefighters at the scene.

A Rotorua Daily Post reporter at the scene said the fire was put out quickly.

She said the fire covered an area about 10m by 10m.

It is not yet known how the fire started.
