The final Rotorua Lakes Council meeting of the year is underway, in front of a big crowd.

The meeting, which began at 1pm, is the last meeting of the year for the council.

Items on the agenda include details of the formal partnership agreement between the council and Te Arawa Partnership Board, ahead of the partnership signing tomorrow.

Also on the agenda are council delegations under the Resource Management Act and adopting the bylaw review.

Items up for discussion in the confidential section of the meeting include who will replace councillor Glenys Searancke in the positions she has lost, a new event business case, an economic development opportunity and proposed rating sales

About 40 members of the Rotorua District Residents and Ratepayers group are at the meeting.
