Rotorua singers, dancers, actors and comedians who think they have what it takes to strut their stuff on stage are being invited to take part in the 2014 Bay of Plenty TheatreFest.
The festival takes place in August at the Rotorua Shambles Theatre and is organised by the Rotorua LittleTheatre Society with Theatre New Zealand.
An information meeting is being held tomorrow for people wanting to find out more before entries close in early July.
Convenor Lesley Hubbard said TheatreFest was about encouragement, friendship, learning, sharing and communicating.
The winner of the event would go on to the regional final, although she said winning was by no means the sole purpose of entering.
She said TheatreFest provided good opportunities to observe one's peers, to learn through performance and education, and the enrichment of meeting other participants and groups.
Each group that takes part receives an assessment offering constructive feedback from an experienced national adjudicator.
To take part, those interested need to produce a 15-to-50 minute performance with at least two performers. It can incorporate comedy, drama, music or dance.
The TheatreFest takes place August 1-2 at the Rotorua Shambles Theatre.
Tomorrow's information meeting is at 2.30pm at the Shambles Theatre (beside Pak'n Save).
If you're unable to attend the meeting but would like to express an interest please call Robyn-ann (027) 273 1100 or (07) 347 8611 or Lesley (027) 649 9681 or (07) 347 7367.
