Rotorua residents have a month from tomorrow to submit feedback on proposed changes to speed limits for 24 local roads.

As the local road controlling authority, Rotorua Lakes Council is responsible for reviewing and setting speed limits on all local roads in the district not including State Highways.

The council conducts speed limit reviews about every three years, focusing on roads that have been subject to public submissions (mainly through annual plan consultation), roads where changes have occurred (e.g. development) or for some other specific reason (e.g. recommendation from a coroner's report).

This latest review was conducted during 2017 and the decision to proceed with public consultation for all 24 roads was made on November 23.

The submission period will be open until March 1. Submissions can be made online via the council's online engagement hub Let's Talk/Korero Mai, in hard copy or via email.
