Readers on the Rotorua Daily Post Facebook page share their thoughts on the timing of the City Focus construction coinciding with the Lions tour.

- Along with the roundabout at Easter
- Yes proactive by all means but the timing is completely wrong.
- Bad timing you muppets, the Lions
tour comes around every 12 years, so why make this place look like a construction site while it's on, wait another six months.
- Feel free to get in to council and make real changes instead of complaining and name calling
- Bad timing
- I hardly think a bunch of rugby fans are going to be concerned that a small part of a small city is under construction while they're in New Zealand. Great to see progress continuing to be made, and after all, the City Focus is used most by locals, so let's get on with it!
- It's rugby not a land transport convention lol just get on with it
- It's "The Rotorua Way" folks.
- Bad timing due to the timing of the Lions tour
- I think council has bigger things to look after, like people, homelessness and jobs, before this monstrosity. Really, is this what my rates pay for? And it was already the heart of the city. I remember in 2001 watching parliament debate, and afterwards Stevie Chadwick talking to us social science students expressing how much society would be needing "hands on help" in years to come and yet here she is putting crap before people. Well you have lost my vote. What is the most important thing in the world? He tangata, he tangata, he tangata. It is the people, it is the people.
- Novel thought, make it an ordinary roundabout and get the town moving!
- Start it later
- I'm sure Lions fans won't even notice this tiny bit of work! Rotorua is a beautiful city with loads to do, get a grip people.
- What a waste of money
- When the homeless rate of this country is still high, they worry about white glowing orbs and looks
- Who signs all these expenses off? Does it really cost this much or are someone's pockets being lined too?
