A limited number of extra tickets for the NZ Lions Series 2017 game between the Maori All Blacks and the British & Irish Lions in Rotorua on June 17 have gone on sale.

Tickets across the available categories are available on a first-come-first-served basis.

General manager of the DHL NZ Lions Series Nigel Cass encouraged fans to get in quick.

"We've now confirmed a range of factors, including operational and commercial requirements, which have freed up some seated category B ($119) and C ($99) tickets for fans. There are also some general admission tickets available from $39."

Tickets for matches featuring the British & Irish Lions against the New Zealand Provincial Barbarians, Maori All Blacks and the Super Rugby teams are available from nzlionsseries.com.

Mr Cass cautioned people buying tickets from unofficial sources.

"We know there are websites out there reporting to be selling tickets of the Series. Our strong message to fans is to keep away from these secondary ticketing sites or risk missing out.

"The DHL NZ Lions Series 2017 is a major event under the 2007 Major Events Management Act, which means that tickets can't be sold above face value. The T&Cs of the tickets also prevent resale or transfer to anyone the holder doesn't know personally. The only official places that tickets for the series can be purchased are through nzlionsseries.com, All Blacks Hospitality or All Blacks Tours."
