The Pink Floyd Experience arrives.

The Pink Floyd Experience arrives.

It's not just about the music - when The Pink Floyd Experience hits town tonight it will be all about the entire production.

Always popular in Rotorua, The Pink Floyd Experience is returning with its Wish You Were Here production and one of the men behind it, Glen Ahearn, said this show was the biggest yet.

"It's all about the lighting, sound, music all combining together as one."

Mr Ahearn said the size of the production would surprise those who hadn't been to one of the shows before, with more than 23 people taking part including an 11-piece band. Three truckloads of equipment were needed for the show, he said.

The Pink Floyd Experience was formed in New Zealand in 1997 and has been touring internationally for more than a decade. This show coincides with the 40th anniversary of the Wish You Were Here album, he said.

Mr Ahearn said they had a following in Rotorua with good audiences in the past - and he expected this year to be no different.

"It's a very big show - the biggest we've done yet."

He said audiences so far had been blown away. "We've had people say it is the best show they've ever been to."
