Mountain biking royalty will be racing on the Whakarewarewa Forest trails this weekend during an enduro event in Rotorua.
Enduro world champions Tracy Moseley (Great Britain) and Jared Graves (Australia) will be racing tomorrow at the Giant 2W Gravity Enduro, being held as part of the Rotorua Bike Festival.
Endurois a discipline of mountain biking which mixes cross country and downhill aspects, with riders doing timed runs down specified trails.
Each rider has their timed runs added together to give them their final time.
Moseley won the Enduro World Series in 2014 after a season-long battle with another mountain biking legend, Anne Caroline Chausson (France). Meanwhile, Graves (Australia) is the current men's champion in the Enduro World Series.
Giant 2W Gravity Enduro organiser Neil Gellatly said it was great to have Moseley and Graves racing in Rotorua this weekend.
"We have the Enduro World Series here in just over a month's time so Tracey is over here for a bit of summer training and a holiday and Jared is coming over to get a bit of a lay of the land ahead of the EWS opener. He has not been here since the 2006 world championships."
The series finishes in March and is currently being led by Canterbury's Joseph Nation and Nelson's Meg Bichard. Unfortunately, Bichard will not be in action tomorrow because of financial restrictions.
