Emergency services are in Pukuatua St attending to what is believed to be a serious medical callout.

At least six ambulance officers are attending to a man on the footpath.

Police and the fire service are also at the scene.

Rotorua police Inspector Stuart Nightingale said one of their officers on beat patrol saw the man collapse in front of him.

He called for support and a defibrillator was brought from the police custody centre on Fenton St.
