Rotorua Skyline has won a supreme tourism award.

Rotorua Skyline has won a supreme tourism award.

It's been a case of another weekend, another award for Skyline Rotorua. The business has capped off a rather remarkable year full of accolades, this time taking out the Supreme Award at the Westpac Rotorua Business Excellence Awards.

Scooping the top award plus two other category awards followed on from taking out the top award at the Tourism Industry Awards last week, and Skyline's dominance in the Rotorua Hospitality Awards earlier this year.

As the business awards celebrated their 25th anniversary, it seems only fitting such an iconic Rotorua business claimed the top gong.

But equally as pleasing is the wide range of businesses and people recognised at Saturday night's event.

From the likes of Edmund Rd Four Square, which took out two categories, to previous winners such as Quest Rotorua Central and Sport of Kings Motel, it's fantastic to see a celebration of the businesses that work so hard in our community.

All those who made the finals should be proud of themselves, and it is a good chance for those who didn't attend to check out and support some of the great businesses that call Rotorua home.

Be it the change in seasons and the sun finally shining or something else, Rotorua seems to be basking in an air of positivity at the moment.

The town is looking beautiful - thanks partly to the flowers around town as part of the Tulip Festival - and people seem to be getting out and about and enjoying it. The school holidays have seen a much-needed buzz around town. Now let's hope it continues to make this summer one to remember.

I'm sure that will have the businesses smiling.
