It's probably about time I updated you on our big plans for next year.

Not long ago we revealed a proposal to change your local paper The Daily Post from its current broadsheet shape and size to a compact format - the same shape and size of page as
the Rotorua Weekender or weekday New Zealand Herald.

The weekday compact format change is in line with international and local trends and provides a more user-friendly read. The Weekend Edition of The Daily Post would remain broadsheet - suiting our readers' weekend lifestyles and providing more options for our advertising clients.

Not only that, we also propose to shift our delivery time from the afternoon to morning, a move which would have benefits for both readers and clients because the news is fresher and our paper is on the newsstands earlier and for longer.

It will be one of the biggest changes The Daily Post has seen in its 127-year history. So a lot of work has been going on behind the scenes in preparation for the proposed change early next year. We want to make it a success - it's for you and it's really important that you have your say on our new-look newspaper.

Thank you for all your initial feedback. Now we'd like to know what you think about the content in our revamped compact edition - as well as on this website.

As part of planning for our proposed relaunch we'll be looking at every area of editorial content and asking if we're giving you the best possible paper and website.

So what do you think? What do we do particularly well? Which regular features do you most enjoy? Is there anything you think really needs improving? Or is there any type of content you think we should add?

We remain committed to being your No 1 source of local news and views - that's not going to change. But we're happy to listen to your ideas about how we can bring you the best, must-read newspaper every day.
