On Saturday morning while glued to the TV, I was filled with pride. It was a celebration of all things English - Paul McCartney, Rowan Atkinson as Mr Bean, Daniel Craig as James Bond and even the Queen and her corgis.
Despite feeling a bit behind watching the delayed coverage on Prime, I'm glad I had the opportunity to watch it at all. I only decided to watch the opening ceremony after scrolling through my Twitter feed and seeing countless tweets, after which I jumped on the bandwagon.
My TV was then stuck on Prime all day, watching highlights and waiting for the live coverage to start.
I almost couldn't believe it when I decided to sleep in the lounge, waking up every couple of hours to make sure I knew what was happening.
Even in the morning when I was meant to be getting ready for work I was glued to the TV.
I am now planning the events which I want to watch, just so I don't miss anything.
I have said I am supporting the New Zealand athletes, but in the events where there is no New Zealander taking part my allegiance will switch back to Great Britain.
I can imagine the next few weeks will be filled with sleepless nights as I let Olympics fever take over.
