A big thank you goes out to Rotorua police and staff at Bay of Plenty Police district headquarters for giving so generously yesterday. Groceries valued about $450 were donated.
Their leader, Inspector Tim Anderson, said police often dealt with some "pretty challenging people" and saw families who might need help so it was pleasing his staff were so quick to jump on board and help.
During the coming weeks, we might be knocking on your door, sending you an email, coming to see you or making a plea on the phone to give to the appeal. It would be great if you could spare any cash or household grocery items to go towards this great cause.
Consider it late spring cleaning of your pantry or just an opportunity to feel good about helping others.
Either way, we are happy to receive what you have to offer. See page 3 today about how you can donate.
