If you didn't already know a couple of big things in entertainment news have happened in New Zealand.

As fans were flocking to cinemas around the country, especially in Auckland (it seems, according to Twitter updates) to watch the premiere of the final film in the latest Batman saga
- The Dark Knight Rises, Beliebers were getting excited that their main man was about to land in New Zealand once again.

Canadian pop star Justin Bieber is in New Zealand as part of a three-day promotional tour which has been surrounded by secrecy. He is believed to have arrived in New Zealand undercover late on Wednesday - unlike the last time when he was mobbed by fans at Auckland Airport two years ago - and was to do an exclusive performance to a crowd of 200 at The Cloud yesterday afternoon. Even those with tickets didn't know where the venue was until shortly before.

Both of these big entertainment events had fans super excited. I know of one Rotorua 4-year-old who wanted to go to Auckland to see Bieber ... her mum told her he was still in the plane and she could watch him on the television instead.

Overnight Tuesday, Twitter was filled with tweets about Batman - those who wanted to watch the final instalment, those gearing up to head to midnight screenings of the film and those who had watched it and loved it. It was also filled with Justin Bieber tweets - updates on his plane movements, fans sharing their excitement about the fact they'll be sharing the same country as him for a small amount of time and other fans planning on stalking the Biebs while he's here.

In Rotorua, fans were considering driving up to Auckland for the possibility of getting a glimpse of him at the airport and seemed to be a little sad he wasn't doing a public concert - but were promising to go when he did.

A midnight screening of the latest Batman movie was also held at Reading Cinemas - for those fans who couldn't wait for a normal hour to see the movie and wanted to be one of the first. However, if you are planning to watch The Dark Knight Rises, there are reasonable times available ... Just check out their website for session times.

It seems some of us will go to great lengths to fulfil our entertainment desires - whether it's staying up extra late to be one of the first to watch an anticipated film or going miles to be in the presence of someone we look up to - and it's not just young girls as you'd expect - it's guys and girls of all ages.
