Eastern Arterial Route

I have said all along what Bishop Rahu is saying and get Te Ngae Road upgraded like they have done Lake Road. There is plenty of room for a four lane highway. There is some stigma about doing this I believe because the RDC know there will be some very expensive houses built on the sections created on the Eastern Arterial Route and our council want tourists to have a good impression of Rotorua when they see these expensive properties as they travel into the city. What nonsense. It's all part of our great international airport strategy and it's time the RDC woke up to the fact that it should start caring about the people who put them in rather than tread all over them. We need to keep our heritage and our bird sanctuaries as the utmost importance and just because Te Ngae Road has older houses, so what, it's the true NZ bungalows they will see that are owned by ordinary working people and not houses that are owned by some big high and mighties. Winters just wants to go down in history so he can say it was done in his time of office when he pushed for the Eastern Arterial route. Hopefully he won't be in office after the next election. We have got rid of Peter Guerin who has done a lot of damage to this town, so maybe the rest will go after the next elections. Maybe we can get some people on our council that have some brains like Merepika Rau Kawa Tait and Charles Sturt.
Lets have a protest march if that will do any good?
