It's been a hectic day for Rotorua's emergency services staff, prompting one local bakery to show its appreciation in a sweet way.
And it's challenging other local businesses to do the same.
Baked Bakery and Cakery owner Carey Baker this afternoon dropped off five boxes, a total of 45 donuts,to the Rotorua Fire Brigade, St John and the Rotorua police.
She said her son, her business partner, came up with the idea this morning.
Baker said the emergency services "always help us at the drop of a hat".
