Kiwi star Greg Johnson is set to perform in Rotorua for the first time in his long and successful career.
The singer-songwriter, who is now living in Los Angeles, will head to Rotorua's Princes Gate Hotel on March 21 for a one-off performance.
His Rotorua show will be one ofeight across the country next month with the tickets expected to be snapped up quickly by fans.
The tour will see Johnson play a selection of tracks from his 10-album strong back catalogue, including Isabelle, It's Been So Long, Now the Sun Is Out, Don't Be The One and Don't Wait Another Day as well as performing some new material from an album still in the works.
Johnston said while he travelled to New Zealand often, and had been to Rotorua many times, this performance would be his first in the Sulphur City.
"I'm really looking forward to it. I've been to Rotorua a few times to visit and we love it, especially the hot pools," he said.
"But this time it will be great to perform and give people in the area an opportunity to see a performance that they normally might have to travel elsewhere to see."
The musician said he loved the Californian sunshine but he was excited about coming back to New Zealand and getting some of the fresh air and glimpses of the beautiful countryside he missed so much.
Johnson encouraged people to come along to the show and said they could expect not just great music, but a lot of laughter and some story telling.
"Whenever we do shows, I always try to make it an experience rather than just a night of music. It's always good to get the audience laughing and tell a few jokes," he said.
Johnson's long-time bandmate, guitarist Ted Brown, will also join the tour, alongside Melbourne-based Lisa Crawley.
-The show is a special seated concert, featuring a three-course meal, with 80 tickets available. Tickets are available from Ticketmaster and at the venue.
