It's been a disappointing day of results for local teams in the Baywide Premier competition.

Both Whakarewarewa and Rotoiti lost against challenging opposition away.

Whaka lost 33-16 against Tauranga Sports at the Tauranga Domain while Rotoiti suffered a 31-17 loss at the hands of Mount Maunganui Sports at Blake Park in round four of the competition.

Meanwhile in the Baywide Division 1 Ngongotaha came out on top in the local derby - beating Marist St Michael's 27-7 away at Marist Park.

Elsewhere Kahukura recorded a narrow 34 -32 win over Rangiuru at Kuirau Park while Waikite's match against Waimana was postponed.
