Death at Paengaroa address in Bay of Plenty being investigated by police

Police investigating a death at a Bay of Plenty address remain at the scene this afternoon.

Police have blocked off part of Showground Rd in Paengaroa and police in boiler suits are examining a property where a tent has been erected.

A police spokesman earlier said officers were sent to a Paengaroa address about 6.20pm on Wednesday after a person died.

“Officers are speaking to others who were at the address at the time to establish the circumstances of the person’s death.

“At this early stage there is no further information available,” he said.

Approached for an update this afternoon, a police spokesman said there was none at this stage, and police were “continuing to make enquiries into the matter”.
