Cricket: Lake Taupo go 15 unbeaten

A six-wicket bag from Lake Taupo bowler Moko Rivers, played a big part in his side's win in the Reserve Grade Pool One top of the table clash with Tauranga Boys' College.

Lake Taupo, the only unbeaten side in this season's Western Bay of Plenty Reserve grade competition, were removed for 169, with past Bay of Plenty Development player Shannon McSkimming top-scoring with 44.

The Boys' College reply concluded at the 84-run mark, with Rivers finishing with figures of six wickets for 30 runs. The Taupo side's 15th straight victory means that they have qualified for the Reserve Grade championship with a game in hand.

Sikh Sports moved into third place on the standings after beating Geyser City.

The Sikh bowlers removed the Rotorua side for 114, with Harpreet Singh taking four wickets. The Western Bay side strolled to victory for the loss of two wickets, with Amtit Singh top-scoring with 45 runs.

Whakatane United also booked a berth in the championship title decider when they defeated Aquinas College. The Aquinas students were bowled out for 102 with the Eastern Bay team getting home with seven wickets to spare.

Katikati posted their first win of the championship rounds, with a win in a high-scoring encounter with R&A Sangha.

The weekend's highest score, was blasted by Te Puke's Vaughan Wilson who smashed an unbeaten 139 in his side's total of 230 all out against Greerton.
