A section of State Highway 36 between Tauranga and Rotorua is now open after a crash.

The highway was blocked in both directions after a truck and another vehicle collided south of Roy Rd at 1.20pm.

Police said one person was reported to have minor injuries, and another had moderate injuries.

NZ Transport Agency said SH36 was closed in both directions south of Roy Rd at the one-way bridge.
