Crankworx Rotorua is under way and the organisers are feeling "chuffed" with the turn out for the first weekend.
Event director Ariki Tibble said the opening ceremony on Friday night was "awesome".
For the first time the opening pohiri was moved to Eat Streat, where a large crowd gathered to see a live kapa haka performance and to kick off the event.

"It was a great vibe and a great crowd," Tibble said.
"We were all pretty chuffed."
The Enduro event was held on Saturday and with the weather playing ball everyone had an awesome time, he said.
"It's logisctically one of the most challenging events to organise.
"I'm glad to get that one done and out of the way."
Today Tibble was enjoying the sunshine at the base of the downhill track.
"It's all under control, so we can just enjoy it.
"The Professionals Rotorua National School's MTB Championship is starting tomorrow and this is one of our largest fields yet."
Over 440 young riders will compete in the event, which starts in Waipa.
On Tuesday the brand new event, the dual slalom, will begin at the Wattles track on Tarawera Rd, Tibble said.
"Skyline is also just around the corner now, and that's when we start to get the big numbers through the gate."
