Just three items will be on the public agenda for tomorrow's Rotorua Lakes Council meeting.
Councillors will meet from 9.30am in the council chamber to discuss recommendations passed on to council from its two main committees - Strategy Policy and Finance, and Operations and Monitoring. The rest of the meeting will be held behind closed doors to discuss confidential information coming from the two committees.
"Council has not met since December so the confidential items on the agenda are to consider matters already discussed in committee and they are adopting the minutes from those committees," a council spokesperson said.
"Committee meetings now provide recommendations which are subsequently adopted by council."
Councillors will officially receive a petition of around 1400 signatures against their decision to build a shared library and children's health hub, along with a decision made last week to hand back the ownership of Hamurana Springs to local iwi Ngati Rangiwewehi.
Before going into confidential, they will also discuss the appointments made by the Strategy Policy and Finance committee regarding the appointments of iwi representatives for committees under the council's new newly-formed Te Tatau o Te Arawa Board.
Confidential items include a new event business case for the city, a new "economic development opportunity", proposed rating sales, contract negotiations and District Plan appeals.
