Paua will headline the concert, which also features reggae artist Wiz Tokelau, from Hamilton, and Rotorua musicians ARI, Natrule Konexzion and DJ Masive.
Local businesses have also got behind the cause donating lots of prizes for a raffle tonight.
One-year-old Teimana, from Rotorua, was diagnosed with Mitochondrial disease last year.
Symptoms of the rare disease include the loss of basic skills like sucking and head control, seizures and eventually organ complications.
Teimana takes nine medicines each day and doctors have given him a life expectancy of one to two years, although there is a chance he may make it to his teens.
Mother Levi Emery said she and partner Rico Maaka would like to take Teimana to the Gold Coast to watch the dolphins.
She said he loves the water and they would like to create a few family memories with him.
"That is what we want to do, take him on a family trip," she said.
Ms Emery said the concert would also help raise awareness about Mitochondrial disease, which affects many families in New Zealand.
A free bus service will be operating to take people to and from the concert, leaving from Countdown, Fenton St at 6pm tonight.
Spaces are limited on the 48-seater bus and people are asked to text Renee White on (027) 894 2295 to reserve a spot.
The bus service is being donated by Ritchies.
Tickets for the concert are $25 from MusicWorks on Pukuatua St or can be bought at www.eventfinder.co.nz
Tickets are also on sale at the door for $30.
