The Blue Baths Comedy Cabaret season will wind up tomorrow night after sell-out performances during the past six weeks.

As the curtain comes down on the Blue Baths Comedy Cabaret for the current season, organisers say it has been one of the best yet.

Sell-out performances, with showgoers coming from Sydney and Christchurch, have been the highlight of the season's six weeks.

The show featured a mix of slapstick comedy, magic, classical show tunes and sexual innuendo woven with plenty of glitz, glamour and bare skin on stage by six creative entertainers.

The Comedy Cabaret had been the most popular summer show so far at the historic art deco venue with around 2500 tickets sold.

"This has been the best season we have had with sell-out crowds on a few nights," said show manager Jo Romanos.

"People have travelled as far away as Christchurch and Australia to see the show - some returning the next night to see the show again.

"A lot of people have asked if the show will be touring the country because they think it is so fabulous."

All the performers were local artists which had surprised many who had seen the show, she said.

"They assume the performers are overseas artists, rather than our own talented artists from the Blue Bath's Emerge entertainment crew."

Some of the performers would be returning for CreationFest (formerly Wearable Creations) to be held at the Blue Baths to support young Rotorua entertainers in July.

Planning had begun for a second cabaret-style show to be staged for six weeks during January and February next year.
