Better known as the CT Club, Rotorua's Commercial Travellers Club is hidden away in the suburb of Springfield and offers something for everyone.
Club secretary/manager Brian Baker said the club was established in 1983 and is affiliated to more than 200 other clubs nationwide through Clubs New Zealand. So no matter
where you are in the country you can find a place for a quiet beer, meal or watch a sporting event.
"Anyone can join. We are offering a one-off membership free until July 1. We have plenty of sub clubs as well with bowls, fishing, golf, snooker, petanque and quiz sub clubs available to members as well."
The club has its own heated swimming pool and barbecue area for those hot summer months.
When the weather gets cooler members can enjoy the onsite TAB, gaming machines, function rooms and the big screen TV's for everyone's favourite sports.
The restaurant is a well-known eatery around town. Also available is a courtesy coach and there is ample parking at the club's premises, located in Moncur Drive, off Old Taupo Rd.
"We have weekly membership draws and raffles, meeting and function rooms are available and we are in a great, quiet location."
Mr Baker said the club had 835 members but could cater for 1200.
"Due to the high demand on our restaurant by club members and functions, we are upgrading and extending our restaurant facilities, taking it from a 70-seat restaurant to a 130-seat facility, incorporating a large al fresco dining area.
"The club has an emphasis on family membership, with our heated swimming pool being a great attraction in the summer months. The club is a very friendly place with a convivial atmosphere," Mr Baker said.
