The show, which runs from July 11 to 13, will feature more than 200 stands, plenty of products, giveaways and prizes, along with dozens of cooking demonstrations.
Several local restaurants are getting behind the event, teaching visitors to the show how to cook restaurant quality food and how to do so on a budget.
Cobb Group chief executive Chris Churchward said two chefs from Cobb & Co had volunteered to take part and will demonstrate how to cook tasty meals from a mystery box of ingredients.
"They'll show people that it is possible to cook delicious, wholesome food, enough to feed a family of four, for under $20," he said.
Mr Churchward said it was also an opportunity for the chefs to show off their talents.
"These are well trained, highly qualified chefs who will be able to share their knowledge and skills with the public."
One of the chefs, local Damien Bosworth, said he was looking forward to taking part. Mr Bosworth has been working in restaurants around Rotorua for more than a decade and said he couldn't imagine doing anything else.
"Cooking is my passion, it's my life. So to be able to share that with people, that's going to be a great feeling," he said.
Cobb & Co will also be hosting a Xbox face-off at the show, where Bay of Plenty Steamers fans can battle it out on the Xbox with some of their favourite players. That will be held on the Friday, the first day of the show.
Cooking demonstrations will run from 10.30am to 4pm daily during the show.
Restaurants and companies taking part in the cooking demos include Urbano, Waiariki Institute of Technology, Novotel, Wai Ora, Oppies Fish and Chips, CBK Restaurant, Eurest, Spice Lounge, Capizzi Pizzeria and Cobb & Co.
The Rotorua Daily Post Home and Leisure Show will be held at the Energy Events Centre. Adults are $5, under-12s are free. For more information visit www.rotoruahomeshow.co.nz.
