Karen Tataiwhetu Vercoe

Karen Tataiwhetu Vercoe

Newly-appointed chairwoman for Te Pumautanga o Te Arawa Trust Karen Tataiwhetu Vercoe is of Ngati Pikiao descent and sole owner of KTV Consulting Ltd.

Ms Vercoe has extensive experience working with Maori organisations.

She has held numerous management roles and brings experience in business management and business performance.

She gained a Master of Management degree from the University of Auckland.

At the Te Pumautanga o Te Arawa Trust meeting last month, a unanimous agreement was reached to revert to the original Trust Deed leadership model with the positions of chair and deputy chair. While the co-chair model had been trialled, the board favoured a return to the standardised leadership model of chair and deputy chair.

Ms Vercoe said she was honoured to be appointed.

"It is with humility and appreciation that Eru George and I were successful in our appointments as chair and deputy chair respectively for Te Pumautanga O Te Arawa."

Ms Vercoe will be based in the Te Pumautanga o Te Arawa office one day per month and will be available to meet with beneficiaries or stakeholders.
