Rotorua music lovers will get a chance to hear multi-award winning Slovak cellist Jozef Luptak perform tomorrow.
The concert will take place at 3pm at Tangatarua Marae, Waiariki Institute of Technology.
Mr Luptak, who is touring New Zealand, has a style all his own. While presenting a musical collage onhis cello featuring works by Bachelor, Block, Tavener and other famous composers, he also interweaves his voice, beatboxing and other rhythmic devices to create a performance that appeals to a wide audience.
There will be two guest appearances as well as a special collaboration with Waiariki students of the Diploma in Contemporary Music Performance.
Mr Luptak is one of the most prominent musicians in Eastern European music and arts. He is a classical and folk musician, working with Roma-Gypsy music, Chassidic music and Eastern Europe's top pop musicians.
