Car plunges into Lake Rotoiti

Occupants of a vehicle that plunged into Lake Rotoiti near Rotorua managed to escape without injury.

A post from the Bay of Plenty Regional Council said that the team was called to Lake Rotoiti yesterday to "boom off" a car that had "ended up in the drink".

The boom worked to capture any oil or fuel that might have leaked into the lake.

"Fortunately everyone in the vehicle was fine."
