One lane is blocked after a car crashed into a bank on Mountain Rd in Rotorua.

A police media spokeswoman said police were called to the scene, at the Clayton Rd end of Mountain Rd, at 4.30pm.

She said an ambulance was not called as the driver, who appeared to be the only person involved, was not injured.

It was unclear if traffic management was in place.
