End of the financial year can be a stressful time for many organisations so staff at Deloitte Rotorua were pleased to have their efforts rewarded with a cooked breakfast.

Deloitte partners Murray Patchell and John McRae brought out the barbecue this morning to treat staff at the local accounting firm to a cooked breakfast, which included bacon, eggs and sausages.

Mr McRae said the breakfast was to recognise the team's determination to meet deadlines for the end of the financial and tax period on March 31.

"It's been a great year and we're really pleased with everyone's performance and commitment to doing a quality job and on time," he said.

"We've had a significant amount of growth in the work we're doing so our team has almost doubled in size - from 19 to 37 - in the last two years.

"It's important to create opportunities where our growing team can celebrate key milestones together, such as the challenging end-of-year financials, and the work that we've achieved."

Mr Patchell said that it was no April Fool's joke that the new financial year started again today and the cycle of annual accounts and tax returns started all over again.

A casual Friday dress code was also adopted for the day by Deloitte Rotorua staff, with gold coin donations going to Rotorua Community Hospice.
