Rotorua Boys' High School 2nd XV will look to defend the Te Kani Shield when they take on Western Heights High School at home this weekend.

They won back the coveted shield last Saturday in a tough encounter beating Bethlehem College 1st XV 35 - 13 on home turf.

Played in very wet and cold conditions the Rotorua Boys' High School pack proved too dominant for their opponents who played with a lack of experience due to injury.

Western Heights High School only held the Te Kani shield for one game last year but fullback Brodie Wood has been in devastating form for them this season.

Whilst Liam Preston and Bailey Gordan have combined well in the halves to pose a real threat for Rotorua Boys' High School 2nd XV.

And the host side will again rely on their big and impressive pack to create an attacking platform for their back line attack weapon in Brad Coulson.

The game will be played at Rotorua Boys' High School No.2 field at 12.00pm on Saturday.
